Markthalle Basel: White nights, 2015

«The light installation in Alte Markthalle is visible only on clear, sunny days. Patience is required to see the installation, as the sun needs to be in exactly right position. Late morning and early afternoon are the best hours to see the lights that appear on the dome-like roof of the Markthalle. They are created by sun hitting a hidden reflective structure. The shape of the reflection is different every day, since the position of the sun changes daily. morning piece: 10 – 11 am, afternoon piece: 13 – 14 pm.  Site-specific installation at Alte Markthalle, Basel. Acrylic mirrors, sunlight. In collaboration with Benedikt Wyss, Deli Projects & Ingrid Magnusson, Maringi Studio. Summer 2015.» Maija Annikki Savolainen
